Switch between senders in the dashboard
The dashboard shows one sender at a time. The Sender section at the top of the sidebar shows which one is selected, and every page — Inbox, Address book, Phases, Schedules, Templates, and Analytics — shows that sender's customers and conversations. Switching senders changes what all of these pages show.
Each sender is shown with its profile picture (or its initials), its name, and a second line with the channel icon (WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, or web chat) and its phone number, Instagram username, Facebook Page name, or website. That second line is how you tell apart two senders with the same name.
Switching senders
- One sender: the sidebar shows it as a card. There is nothing to switch.
- Several senders on a wide screen: the sidebar lists your senders, with the selected one highlighted. Click a sender to switch to it. When you have more than four, the list shows your first four senders — or the first three plus the selected one, if you picked a sender further down — followed by a +N more row; click it to see and choose from all of them.
- Several senders on a smaller screen or phone: open the sidebar menu and tap the sender card to open the full list, then choose a sender. On a phone the list opens from the bottom of the screen; tap outside it to close it.
When you have more than six senders, the list has a search box: type part of a name, number, username, or website to narrow it down.
The list also works from the keyboard: use the up and down arrow keys to move, Enter to choose, and Escape to close it.
The dashboard remembers the sender you picked. A link copied from the address bar opens the same sender for whoever you send it to, provided they have access to it.
Badges and warnings
- Amber number badge: the number of new messages that need your attention on a sender other than the one you are viewing. On a smaller screen the badge on the sender card adds up all of your other senders; on the +N more row it adds up the senders hidden behind it. The badge clears when you switch to that sender. Unread badges appear while the Inbox is open.
- Warning triangle: the sender's connection is disabled, so it cannot send or receive messages. Hover over the triangle to see why. An admin can reconnect it from Admin → Senders (see senders and sender-not-replying).
No senders yet
If no sender is connected to your account yet, the sidebar shows No senders connected yet. Admins and owners also see a Connect a sender link to Admin → Senders; other team members see Ask an admin to connect a sender., since only an admin or owner can connect one. See connect-whatsapp to get started.
