Add and manage API keys
Add a key
Open Admin → Developer, find API keys, and select Add API key. Enter a label, check the generated name, paste the key into the write-only value field, and save it.
Yapper stores the key encrypted and uses it only to connect on your behalf. The value can never be shown again after you save it. The list shows only its label, name, fingerprint, and creation date.
Replace or delete a key
Select Replace and paste the new value to update a key without changing its name. Select Delete to remove one. Yapper warns you if a saved connection references the deleted name.
Keep keys out of chat
Never paste an API key, password, or access token into Yapper Support or a Consultant conversation. The Consultant cannot use a key from chat and directs you to the API keys pane when a connection needs one. If you paste a key into chat, rotate it in the service that issued it, then save the replacement in the API keys pane.
